Does God grant “wishes”?

I was chatting with a friend on facebook and we were talking about praying for each other. And she said this…..

“thanks cause we need all the prayers we can get, I pray for you every night. I pray for your wishes to come true. dont know if God appreciates it, but I can only pray  the way I know”

My spirit LEPT when I read this..  Does “God appreciate it?”

Wishes: (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/wishes)

1. 1.    to want; desire; long for
2. 2.    to request or charge
3. 3.    to desire; long; yearn
4. 4.    a request or command

Bible:

Psalm 37:4  Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Psalm 20:4  May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.

There are so many scriptures that talk about God granting you the desires of your heart, and God wanting the best for you, and He cares about our desires and needs..

HE cares so much about us and wants us happy. When we desire to do His will and want nothing more than to be who he has created us to be he appreciates someone asking for that to come true.

I know in my heart I want nothing more to be that mighty man he has called me to be. Even with all my junk, my issues, my mistakes and heartaches. He knows my desires are after Him! And I “wish” nothing more than to be in His will, to worship and adore him. Even as David was a man after Gods own heart he screwed up a lot! Murder.. Lust… Adultery.. and so on but he was still so in love with God even in his screw ups.

So when we “delight” in him, Trust in him, have a heart toward him, HE will grant us our wishes…

I think that would answer the question between the definition and scriptures does God appreciate you praying for someone’s “wishes” to come true.. OF COURSE!!

 The Story:

David was living in a cave.

The LORD God had systematically removed every support from his life, teaching him a difficult lesson to lean upon Him alone.

While David and his men hid in the cave, the LORD God brought king Saul into the same cave.

David had the perfect opportunity to kill king Saul, but he didn’t.

David displayed love, grace, compassion, and forgiveness.

Saul clearly hated David because God was blessing David and not him. He was determined to see David put to death.

Saul heard where David was hiding and he came all the way to hunt him.

Saul was doing everything in his power to take David down and prevent him from becoming the next king of Israel.

Lessons:

They are times when the enemies of God try all their best to harm the children of God.

Like David, we are not to retaliate.

We are to wait on the LORD God to intervene.

Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. — Romans 12:19 (New King James Version)

Remember…

David spared king Saul’s life in the cave.

 my thoughts:

in the past weeks i have gone through some trying times in my life.. I had stated a few times that i felt like i was like David hiding in the cave… almost like it was a good thing at times.. I ready this blog about it and it really hit me hard.. that sometimes we do run and hide in the cave and it can be dangerous… BUT  God looks at how we respond to the situation…

I spoke years back a couple times on “how will you respond” and it still rings true today the Children of Israel spent 40 years in the wilderness and shouldn’t had to .. they complained and built false idols and came against there leader..  Even in there fear the responded so negatively that is effected there destiny that most of them never saw the promise land…

As i look at mine and others current situations i really wonder how we should respond..  its soo hard when you feel like the world is against you and people you trusted seem to have hurt you and are chasing you down ( as saul did to david) sometimes you got to Run to that cave and  hide and cry out to God! (psalm 57 and 142) 

As we hide in the cave those that pursue us seem to find us sometimes and i love how David had his chance to kill saul but he reacted soo well and Spared his Life showing True Grace and mercy just as God would had intended him too..

As you go through trials in your life and people hurt you and talk about you and seem to stab you in the back.. remember God cares about you and is watching to see how you will respond… he is giving you a 2×4 will you beat the person up.. or will you build a bridge and get over it.. its such a harsh term yet true..  lets take these life lessons  and move on.. get over them and trust in Him!! that he knows the plans He has for you! (Jerm 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.)

Prayer:

Father i pray for everyone who reads this that there lives would be changed that if they feel they are in a cave hiding from the enemy that they will stand strong and trust you and respond to the situation the right way.. JEsus i pray that your blood will cover them and Holy Spirit will give them peace!!!  i speak Safety and Love and Mercy over them!!  And Lord i pray your mercy Grace and Love over the enemy that pursues them.. I pray you would deal with there hearts and change there lives in JESUS NAME!!

Saturday Dec 4^th I met with Pastor Tom at Church of Holy Spirit Song and talked about the service Sunday. He told me to be obedient to what God was saying do and I shared some things with him that I would speak on and it was already right on with what he felt the church needed to hear. Woo hoo God!

Sunday Morning the service began they took such good care of me! They did the service as normal and turned the service over to me. I shared a little bout myself and sang a song. Then I began to share what God was saying on intimacy. I shared my testimony along with it and about my journey with God to where I am now. I watch Holy Spirit touched so many people! I had a chance to pray and minister over quite a few people. And different ones shared how they needed to hear about intimacy with God and how it would change there life! I Love it when God shows up!

On the 12^th was the Crossroads concert at MCC Palm Beaches. WE met early to rehearse some more and it was so exciting to be a part of this! There were just under 100 people there from all kinds of back grounds gay.. Strait… Pentecostal.. Non denominational.. Liturgical..   I have over 20 people who came to see me.. it was such a blessing people from as far as 80 miles away!!  I was so blessed to be a part of this and to have the support that came out!! Holy Spirit was there so strong and it was great to see lives touched! Thanks to all who came! You know who you are!! Ill have some pics and videos attached bellow.

On the Monday after I went with Tara and Alex (from Wales) to Orlando to go to Disney. We had a nice time! I went to Tampa to see my dad for his Birthday I took him and Granny to Olive Garden for their first time.. It was FUN! And good as always!

I went back to Orlando for a few days to pick up some shifts at Disney I had like 3 days of work this time. THANK GOD!  It was fun to work I worked Thanksgiving and couple days after.

Oct 16, I arrived back in Nashville at Chrissy and Edie’s (dark harp) were Chrissy and I decided to work on some music. I had written a song called Bethesda before I had left California. Chrissy and I sat down and wrote the music for the song and started recording it. I am really excited Eddie is going to be editing and mastering it for my first single.

Oct 17, I headed on over to Asheville for one night were I got to see Scott and the house. Then my friend Cynthia came down and had dinner with us at home grown. It was great to see everyone before I left for Florida for 2 months.

Oct 22, I headed to Florida. Were I was going to meet with some of my mice chat friends and try to pick up some shifts at Disney. It was a fun 2 weeks getting to see everyone and visit with them but I was not able to pick up any shits which really aggravated me but God knew what he was doing… So Ruth Cooper came up and spent a couple of days and as always we had a blast.

Nov 2-6 I spent time with family and on the 7^th headed down to Palm Beach to spend time with family. I meet up with Ruth Copper and other friends at Covenant Center international. During the week I was preparing for my concert with Shawn Thomas Jeremiah Cumming, Suzie Brenner at MCC Palm Beaches On the 12^th of November.
